Being in the Wychwood is a socially-engaged project that has been created with The Wychwood Project. It offers people different ways of connecting with a natural environment and aims to raise awareness that connecting with nature can improve wellbeing.
Being in the Wychwood has two participatory activities. Come into the Woods:Topples Wood and The Map Room:Make your Mark!
Come into the Woods: Topples Wood takes place in the woodland of the Wychwood Forest behind the Mappists’ studios. It offers different ways of connecting with trees and woodland, these include an audio work, poetry and performance, and an area for forest bathing.
The Map Room:Make your Mark! Participants are invited to mark their walks on a map of the Wychwood Forest. We aim to produce a booklet of favourite walks that includes personal highlights of the walks.
